Christmas moments that sparkle!
I was the illustrator for the 2024 Christmas stamps for An Post, Ireland’s largest logistics company and our national postal service… yeah THAT’S RIGHT!
These are the final 6 stamps that went to print. We had 3 secular and 3 non secular, all based around the theme ‘Christmas moments that sparkle’
To start, I set out to capture as many ‘sparkling moments’ as I could. I played around with 13 different designs, ranging from a cozy candlelit turkey dinner to the warm glow of a doorstep light on carollers. These sketches were then sent off to the wonderful team at An Post, who would ultimately decide which ones would make the final cut as stamps.
I was also responsible for creating the An Post First Day Cover, which marks the official release of a new set of postage stamps. This collector’s item features all six stamps, along with a specially designed envelope. On top of that, I had the exciting opportunity to design the cancellation mark as well!!
Here you can see some alternate options for both the cancellation marks and the little envelopes! Cute!
